Note
from our Warden
I
was very pleased that Michael Gold accepted the Editorship
of the Jacobette for this year.
Our
success this year has been largely attributable to
our team working within the shul.
People
who visit our shul comment on the beauty of the building
and the ambience. Once you have visited, you will
want more.
A
special thank you to the community for presenting
me with the title of Reverend. On that theme, we do
need to recruit genuine people who put the community
before themselves.
A
community (tzibur) consists of different types of
people. If you take the first 2 letters tz
equates to tzadikim (righteous), ibur
joins the bain anim (neither righteous nor wicked)
and the r for reshaim (wicked). In our
community we hope we are in the middle category so
during the Yomim Neroim (High Holydays) we can pray
to G-d to forgive our sins and
allow our teshuva (repentance).
Prayer,
charity and repentance on the mitzvas (prece pts)
we need to perform to achieve redemption. I would
like to wish you all a Shona Tova and Healthy New
Year and the Moshiach should come speedily in our
days.
